Student Success Stories



This week we decided to do something a tad different with our success story. We want to highlight all of our Vols that have gone off to do great things, so we want to redirect you to the Oak Ridge National Library’s website to check out this article about an excelling recent UT grad, Olivia Thompson. She went on to make her biology degree count and is still working hard. Here’s a short excerpt from the article she was featured in.


ORNL Intern Olivia Thompson

“When Olivia Thompson tossed up her graduation cap at the University of Tennessee commencement ceremony, her family watched with particular pride. Thompson had officially become the first member of her immediate family to graduate from college. But as the cheers faded and Thompson reflected on her college experience, she felt a bit unsettled. She was uncertain if she had found her true passion during those four years and felt that real-world experience would help her know for sure….”
