This week’s student highlight features Scott Richards, a Ph.D
student at UT specializing in nuclear engineering, who received a special mentioning
from the Oak Ridge National Library website. Scott was involved in a 10 week
intensive Nuclear Engineering Science Laboratory Synthesis (NESLS) program, especially
designed to propel forth the careers of young professionals aspiring to break
into the field of nuclear engineering. Here’s a short excerpt from the article:
“Richards’ experience in the NESLS program not only afforded
him the unique opportunity to research alongside some of the nation’s best and
brightest scientists, like his mentor Dr. Kaushik Banerjee, but it also
prepared him for his next leap in nuclear engineering—gaining his Ph.D. from
the University of Tennessee.”
