Monday Morning Inspiration

Stressed for Success

You don’t have to; you get to! When you’re stressed out about all of the upcoming events and exams and presentations and work…STOP. Relax. Take a deep breath. Take each day one step at a time and focus on the immediate things first. Create a to-do list and mark each item off as you go; each strike through an assignment is a small reward and one step closer to being done. It is important to keep your head up and maintain a positive outlook. After all, we are all working towards a bigger goal than just making an “A” on an exam or passing a class. We’re achieving our dreams and pursuing our interests one day at a time. So when you’re stressed out, stop and think, “I don’t have to; I get to.”

Monday Morning Inspiration/ Quick Tips

Let’s start this week off here in Big Orange Country with some stress relieving tips! As college students, the pressure to keep moving forward may become overwhelming sometimes. While we are wrapping up midterms and making the final changes to our Spring semester schedules, we should consider the Five Essential Elements of our personal Wellbeing.

1. Purpose Wellbeing: Make daily goals, remember your strengths, and remind yourself of who “YOU” are

2. Social Wellbeing: Have fun, hang out with friends, and enjoy your life

3. Financial Wellbeing: Spend money only on your necessities, create a savings plan, reward yourself, and remember, “Money does not buy happiness”

4. Physical Wellbeing: Keep a healthy diet, exercise often, and most importantly get plenty of sleep

5. Community Wellbeing: Create a sense of engagement in the area where you live, feel safe in your community, preserve the environment, have a peaceful home, and volunteer your time to help others

So the next time you are stressed, just remember the Five Essential Elements of “YOUR” Wellbeing!

Monday Morning Inspiration

With midterms quickly approaching and interviews from Job Fair Week underway, it can be a bit difficult for students to take the time to reflect on their personal achievements. Whether you are a freshman in Marketing, a fifth year in Engineering, or a transfer student in English, it is imperative to acknowledge how much success you have accumulated in your collegiate career and how you have developed as a person. Take the time this week to contemplate the lessons that you have learned, the experiences you have gained, and how close you are to your dream career; then go ace those midterms!

If midterms become overbearing, the Student Success Center and Frieson Black Cultural Center have tutoring available in various subjects.

If you are stressed, the counseling center has feel better fast workshops.

If you need help with interviews, resumes, choosing a major, job or internship search, or graduate school, feel free to contact the Center for Career Development.

Remember that you are not at it alone and we are all rooting for one another! Have a great week!

Yours Truly,
